The Personalities Behind Payoff — Meet Lissa C. From Our Member Experience Team

I have been at Payoff since …
November 2014.

The best thing about my job is …
The people. From my coworkers to our amazing members, I get to talk to the actual best people all day, every day. The coffee is also pretty sweet!

When I’m not working, I am …
Moonlighting as a makeup artist. Painting my nails. Binge-watching terrible TV shows (ScandalNashville and Revenge were my most recent shameful watches). Drinking red wine.

My friends describe me as …
Crazy? I don’t knowwwww.

When it comes to dogs or cats, I prefer …
Dogs. I have the sweetest Pomterrier (Pomeranian Terrier) named Essie Grace. Yes, she has two names and is named after the nail polish brand Essie. She’s also not graceful AT ALL.

My favorite TV show is …
Mad Men is easily one of the best shows I’ve ever watched. I love to watch Vice on HBO and anything with Anthony Bourdain too!

My favorite movie is …
So far this year, probably Room. My boyfriend and I are obsessed with movies — I make an Excel sheet of all the Oscar contenders every year and then see them all!

My favorite book is …
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. That’s the book that made me fall in love with reading! I’m also a total Harry Potter nerd. I re-read the entire series every year!

My favorite food is …
Any and everything spicy. Also, pizza.

My favorite vacation was to …
Barcelona, Spain, or to Cartagena, Colombia. It’s a weird toss-up, I know.

A website I check all the time is …
The Playlist — I’m obsessed with movie reviews, and they always know what’s up!

The song I never get tired of hearing is …
Anything Celine Dion — I’m a closet fan!

When I was a kid, my dream job was …
Marine biologist. I don’t think I actually knew what that meant, though.

If I had a superpower, it would be …
Flying sounds fun!

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?
32.

Are you an iPhone or Android person?
iPhone. I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t use Apple products lol. That green Android guy creeps me out.

If I could paradox-free time travel to any day in history, I would …
Love to go back to high school, as weird as that sounds. That is one of my favorite times in life — carefree, driving around in my teal ’91 Honda Accord and so incredibly happy.

What matters most to me is …
Investing in great relationships. Family, friends and my sweet, sweet boyfriend — they make my world go round!

What I don’t care about at all is …
Cilantro. Blech.

If you could change your middle name, what would you change it to?
I love my middle name — Diane (after my mom’s favorite aunt), but I changed my first name when I was 8. So I think that’s probably enough name changing for one lifetime.

On a Saturday/Sunday, I love to …
Do nothing! I love to make breakfast, drink a ton of coffee, cuddle with my dog, watch far too much Netflix and just relax!

I really admire …
My mom! She is strong and fierce. Someone I will always want to be like but never achieve because she is one-of-a-kind! Man, she is a real gem!

What was the best date you’ve ever been on?
Probably my first date with my boyfriend — he pretended we were going to some fancy place and then took me to Chipotle, and I cried because it’s my favorite lol.

Money is …
Just money. It’s just a tiny part of who you are, but it doesn’t define you.

Money is not …
As scary as it seems. I spent the majority of my early adulthood running from all things related to money. Saving, debt and even understanding my finances terrified me. Once I looked my fears in the eyes and started saving, paying off my debt and learning about my finances, I couldn’t remember why I was so afraid to begin with. I mean, [working at] Payoff also makes it a lot easier. 😉

My money personality is …
The Storyteller!

Last week’s Payoff Personality, Michael N., asked you:
If you could win a year’s supply of anything, what would it be?

Toilet paper. I despise buying it for some reason!

And you get to ask next week’s Payoff Personality, Scott L., a question. What’s your question and how would you answer it?
If you were a Pringles flavor, which would you be?

I feel like I would be Pizza flavor!
